Samsung Sends Galaxy S24 Ultra to Space for Taking Pictures
Samsung accomplished an extraordinary feat by sending four Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones into space to capture images of the western United States. Using specialized lightweight carbon fiber frames, the phones were attached to balloons filled with hydrogen gas.
These phones were mounted onto 3D rigs specifically designed for this task, enabling them to capture images from various angles and positions, including wide-angle shots and close-ups.
The balloons were launched from four different locations: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Samsung aimed to capture diverse landscapes to test the performance of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
After taking the photos, the teams released the hydrogen gas from the balloons and safely brought the rigs back to Earth using parachutes. Samsung closely monitored the landing locations and successfully retrieved the devices.
The images captured were remarkably impressive, and Samsung has shared them on its X (formerly Twitter) page. Users can engage with the post to view a photo taken by Samsung from space.
