The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has disclosed the probable date for Eid...
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared a week-long spring break for schools throughout the province.
According to a notice from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, all public and private educational institutions will be closed from April 1 to 8. Given that the Eid holidays are expected to occur from April 9 to 14, students will have a continuous break of 14 days.
It’s important to note that these holidays are intended solely for students. All principals, head teachers, and administrative staff are expected to adhere to their regular school schedule.
The education department also stated that “Other school staff will be on duty for the enrollment of new students and the distribution of free books.”
In a separate development, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has unexpectedly altered the spring break schedule for educational institutions in Islamabad.
The FDE announced on Wednesday that all educational institutions under its jurisdiction will observe spring break from April 8 to 12. Additionally, the Directorate stated that the new academic year will begin on April 15.
Previously, the FDE had declared that spring break would be observed from April 1 to 7, 2024. This abrupt change in schedule has elicited strong criticism from stakeholders.
