He revealed that their relationship had already reached a significant stage before the public proposal, with both families being involved in their discussions long before the big event.
Interestingly, Yasir admitted that the proposal wasn’t entirely his idea. Frieha Altaf, known for her flair for dramatic moments, played a key role in orchestrating the public proposal. Yasir was even given a script for the proposal, crafted by Fifi Haroon. However, nerves got the better of him on the night, and he didn’t stick to the script.
The proposal, which included a kiss on the cheek, sparked a wave of reactions online. Some critics were unimpressed, with one remarking, “How could she let him do that? Even married couples don’t do that in front of everyone even though they have the right to.” Another critic took issue with Yasir’s approach, commenting, “Yasir Hussain thinking his proposal to Iqra Aziz is her ‘third award of the night’ is peak misogynist behaviour we have come to expect from him. She is successful and popular without his help.”
Despite the criticism, actor Hamza Ali Abbasi defended the couple, stating, “How can you find faults in a man asking a woman for Nikkah? Because he hugged her or kissed her on the cheek? Stop it! Instead celebrate the good,” and offered his congratulations to the couple.
