ADB approves $400m loan for Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a loan of $400 million for Pakistan for rehabilitation of flood affected people and provision of basic health facilities.
The loan amount of $40 million will be spent on construction of flood-affected houses, infrastructure in Pakistan and basic health facilities will be restored in Sindh under the project.
According to the Asian Development Bank, in 2022 floods affected 33 million people in Pakistan, 2.1 million houses were completely or partially destroyed.
The Asian Development Bank said that despite the passage of 2 years, many victims are forced to live in temporary homes or shelters.
Earlier, A delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) met with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur here at CM Secretaria.
Apart from Additional Chief Secretary Planning, Administrative Secretaries of concerned departments and other officials were also present in the meeting.
Both discussed in details issues related to the ongoing important development projects in various sectors in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank in the province.
The ADB is supporting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in different sectors include road infrastructure, water, agriculture, energy, urban development and health.
A detailed discussion was also held on the progress on these development projects as per the timelines and the matters related to their timely completion.
