Kartik Aaryan opens up about feeling burned out due to excessive work
Kartik Aaryan recently shared his feelings about his intense work schedule, calling himself a “workaholic x 100.” He admitted that he often feels burned out and that his life seems to revolve entirely around work.
In a candid discussion, he compared his life to a race with no finish line, mentioning he rarely has time to pause and reflect. Interestingly, he sometimes visits malls just to see if fans recognize him.
In an interview with the Indian Express, Kartik looked back on his Bollywood journey, recalling how, during tough times, his only focus was to land his first role. He found success with Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011, but when that moment came, he realized he didn’t fully enjoy it. Instead of celebrating, he felt stressed about what was next.
Kartik also highlighted one of his happiest moments when someone asked him for a selfie. He would even walk through malls on purpose, saying, “I would in fact walk into a mall deliberately so that people recognise me.”
At 33, he acknowledged the ups and downs of his career, saying he was often labeled the “monologue guy.” While he wishes for more variety in his work, he struggles to find time for self-reflection. He noted, “I haven’t had the chance to sit and back reflect because I am in a race with no finish line.”
Feeling burnt out, he recognized the need for personal time but finds it hard to step away from work. “I think I need time for myself also; I am getting a bit burnt out with this—just constantly been working. But the thing is, I don’t know anything else but work,” he explained.
Kartik has built a strong film career with notable films like Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Shehzada, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Love Aaj Kal (2020), and Chandu Champion.
