The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that Karachi’s ongoing heatwave will persist for another 24 hours.

The city is expected to experience hot and dry conditions, with clear skies and warm daytime winds.

According to PMD, temperatures in Karachi will peak at 38°C, with a minimum of 20°C over the next day.

The heatwave is being caused by a high-pressure system over Rajasthan, India, and is expected to last until Wednesday. However, temperatures are likely to drop from Thursday as the pressure system weakens and a new high-pressure area forms over the Arabian Sea.

Although the high-pressure system is currently far from Karachi, its movement closer may result in strong winds, bringing temperatures down to around 33-34°C.
