
Islamabad: The government has announced a significant increase in the prices of petroleum products, with both high-speed diesel and petrol prices being raised.
According to the notification of Finance Division, petrol prices have been increased by 5.36 rupees per litre, with the new rate set at 272.15 rupees per litre. Similarly the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by 11.37 rupees per litre, bringing the new price to 284.35 rupees per litre.
Additionally, the Ministry of Finance announced that the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by 3.10 rupees per litre, and the price of light diesel oil has been decreased by 1.85 rupees. These price cuts are intended to provide relief to consumers.
The new rates took effect at midnight and will remain in place for the next 15 days.
In the previous fortnight, the petrol rate was hiked by Rs8.36 per litre following fluctuations in international crude oil prices. The price of diesel was also raised by Rs10.39.
