Heavy rains and thunderstorms expected across Pakistan

The third spell of the monsoon is set to enter Karachi from tomorrow (Friday), with light to moderate rainfall expected under its influence.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi will get light to moderate rain starting tomorrow as part of the third round of monsoon showers. The weather in the city is expected to stay cloudy and humid all day, with a chance of light drizzle at night.

The highest temperature in Karachi may go up to 35°C, while humidity is currently at 69 percent. Winds from the southwest are blowing at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour, according to the Met Office.

At the same time, areas like Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to see off-and-on rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the next twelve hours.

Some of these areas may even get heavy to very heavy rainfall. Central and southern Punjab, along with parts of northeast and southern Balochistan, are expected to receive isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorms as well.

Islamabad and Quetta are experiencing temperatures of 24°C, Lahore 28°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 26°C, Gilgit 18°C, Murree 14°C, and Muzaffarabad 23°C.

As for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather forecast suggests cloudy skies with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.

Srinagar eighteen degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-eight, Leh eleven, Pulwama and Anantnag seventeen, Shopian sixteen and Baramula twenty-one degree centigrade.
