A proposal to host the Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates between September 5 and 10 has emerged from the annual meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dhaka.

The proposed tournament will feature eight teams, including arch-rivals Pakistan and India, with matches scheduled to be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This suggestion came to light during the ACC’s annual gathering, where discussions around the future of Asian cricket took place.

Following the ACC meeting, President Mohsin Naqvi addressed the media, confirming that all 25 member nations participated in the annual session, which was conducted in a very positive atmosphere. Naqvi emphasized the consensus among all members that “no politics should be brought into the ACC platform.”

“We should only work for the promotion of cricket,” Naqvi stated, adding that the Asia Cup schedule is currently awaited from India, and an official announcement will follow its receipt.

In a related development, Mohsin Naqvi also confirmed plans for a three-nation cricket series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UAE. This series is slated to take place in the UAE before the Asia Cup, offering valuable preparation for the participating teams.
