Princess Diana’s wax statue revealed in Paris

A new wax statue of Princess Diana has been unveiled to the public at a leading Paris museum, sparking immediate attention and conversation across the city.

The statue depicts the late Princess Diana in her famous “Black Revenge Dress” the same dress she wore to a 1994 event at London’s Serpentine Gallery on the night King Charles III publicly admitted to infidelity.

The wax figure depicts Diana in high heels, a pearl choker and a small clutch bag in her hand, a reminder not only of her unparalleled fashion style but also a powerful expression of her independent and confident personality.

The life-size wax figure of Lady Diana is presented at Grevin Museum in Paris, France, Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025.

The princess is still affectionately known in France as “Lady Di,” and the spot in Paris where she died in the accident is still filled with flowers and condolence notes.

The museum has consciously placed Diana’s statue at a distance from her ex-husband and other figures in the royal family to highlight her individual identity and independent personality.

According to French novelist Christine Orban, The Black Dress was the moment when Diana took control of her story and presented her true voice to the world.

Those attending the unveiling ceremony said that Paris had never forgotten Diana, and the statue was an emotional tribute to her enduring memory and influential legacy.
