GB Assembly to dissolve today after completing five-year term

The 42nd session’s third and final sitting will be held today and the assembly is scheduled to be officially dissolved at midnight.

SKARDU: The Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Assembly will be dissolved today after completing its five-year term.

According to the Secretary of the GB Assembly, the 42nd session’s third and final sitting will be held at 2:00 pm, and the assembly is scheduled to be officially dissolved at midnight.

The current assembly was formed following the November 15, 2020 elections, and the next elections will be conducted under the provisions of the Federal Elections Act, 2017.

In this regard, the sources say that there is a possibility that the name of caretaker chief minister will be announced today in Gilgit-Baltistan, which will be announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
