During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 roadshow held in London, Pakistan’s cricket stars shared insights on how the league has transformed their careers and opened doors to global opportunities.
Star batter Babar Azam expressed gratitude for PSL, stating that the league gave him recognition and the unique chance to interact with cricketing legends such as Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Andre Russell, and most importantly, his personal favorite, AB de Villiers, from whom he learned valuable lessons.
Opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan reflected on his 17-year-long cricketing journey, noting that despite playing for so long, he had struggled to gain recognition until the PSL platform elevated his profile.
Sahibzada Farhan also acknowledged the learning experiences he gained by playing alongside foreign stars and Babar Azam.
Fast bowler Haris Rauf highlighted the pivotal role of PSL in shaping his career, stating that without the league, he might have pursued a conventional job.
He recalled the excitement of sharing the news of his selection with his family, marking a turning point in his professional journey.
Adding a touch of nostalgia, former captain Wasim Akram shared a memorable anecdote about local players dining with foreign stars during the PSL, emphasizing the league’s role in fostering camaraderie and learning among players.
The PSL continues to provide a global platform for Pakistani cricketers, offering exposure, skill development, and opportunities to learn from the best in the world.
