Sydney Sweeney is looking forward to a change of pace this Christmas after a busy year of high-profile projects.
The 28-year-old actress, who starred in Christy and The Housemaid in 2025, revealed that she plans to travel during the festive season something she’s never done before. Speaking to Extra, Sweeney said, “I’m going to travel… I’ve never traveled for the holidays before.”
The Euphoria star has spent recent months filming the show’s highly anticipated third season and is eager to finally discuss the new episodes with fans. “I’m really, really looking forward to being able to finally talk about it,” she said. “It’s going to be coming pretty soon, so I’ll have way more to share in the new year.”
Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard in the HBO series, has previously spoken about her desire to explore different lives through her work. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she explained, “I think that I’ve chosen a lot of characters that I get to explore different versions of life and lose myself to.”
She also pushed back against claims that her roles are predominantly overtly sexual, noting that while Cassie has been culturally significant, many of her other recent characters have not fit that description. “Everything since then hasn’t been [overtly sexual],” she said, referencing projects including Reality, Americana and The White Lotus.
In Christy, Sweeney took on the demanding role of a former professional boxer said she fully immersed herself in the project. “I put a lot of love and hard work into this, so it feels good that people are recognising that and that the story is resonating with people,” she shared.
Following her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino earlier this year, Sweeney now appears focused on both personal downtime and an exciting new chapter in her career.
