Rawalpindi: The forum of the 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, unequivocally rejected any nexus between terrorism, crime, and political interests.
The 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference was held under the chairmanship of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
At the start, the forum offered Fateha for the martyrs from the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents. The participants paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives defending the motherland against terrorism, including acts sponsored and instigated by foreign elements.
The Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces lauded the unwavering courage, high professional standards, and unparalleled sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces. He also appreciated the resolute and effective intelligence-based counterterrorism operations carried out by the armed forces across the country in recent months.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir stated that due to the combined efforts of the government and the Pakistan Army, along with the steadfast support of the Pakistani people, Pakistan is gradually but surely moving toward stability, broader opportunities, and dignity.
During the conference, a comprehensive review of the internal and external security environment was conducted, with emphasis placed on operational preparedness in view of the evolving threat landscape.
The participants reaffirmed their resolve to deal decisively, without any leniency, with all terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors operating under Indian patronage.
The forum categorically rejected any link between terrorism, crime, and political interests, making it clear that no individual or group would be allowed to undermine national unity, security, and stability, regardless of their political affiliations. It was also reiterated that all attempts to create a divide between the armed forces and the people would be thwarted.
The conference appreciated the special development initiatives undertaken by the Balochistan government, noting that these measures are helping empower local communities and address the root causes of terrorism through social engagement. The participants emphasized the need to replicate similar public-centric initiatives in other areas under the framework of the National Action Plan.
The forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their legitimate struggle. It also reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian assistance, and a credible pathway toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Concluding the conference, the Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, physical fitness, modern innovation, and professional excellence on the battlefield.
He expressed complete confidence in the Pakistan Army’s ability to counter conventional, sub-conventional, hybrid, and asymmetric challenges to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
