In Lakki Marwat’s Takhti Khel area, a joint and successful operation was carried out against Khawarij terrorists by Lakki Marwat Police, Bannu Police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local peace committees.
During the operation, six terrorists were killed while several others were injured. The operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence information, during which terrorist hideouts were effectively targeted.
The terrorists opened heavy fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two sides.
According to Medical Superintendent Dr. Ishaq Khan, a total of 19 people have been injured so far as a result of the clash, while one civilian has embraced martyrdom. The injured include five children, one woman, and three police personnel.
Two of the injured were shifted to Bannu Hospital for further treatment due to their critical condition.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, praised the Bannu Region Police for the successful operation and commended the efforts made to ensure regional peace and security.
He stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is fully engaged in fighting external terrorists to protect the lives and property of the public.
The IG emphasized that operations against terrorist elements will continue without discrimination and that peace and stability in the area will be ensured at all costs.
He further termed the effective coordination between the police, CTD, and peace committees as a major factor behind the success of the operation.
