Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and provincial chief ministers have extended New Year 2026 greetings to the nation, reaffirming their commitment to national unity, stability, and socio-economic development.

President Asif Ali Zardari:

In his New Year message, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the people of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis, and the international community. He said that as custodians of the country’s future, Pakistanis must renew their commitment to national responsibilities.

Acknowledging existing challenges, the President emphasized that the nation is not helpless and can overcome difficulties through unity, resilience, creativity, and faith.

PM Shehbaz Sharif:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the nation on the New Year, expressing hope that every day of 2026 would bring prosperity.

He stated that 2025 would be remembered as a historic year for national defense and reaffirmed that the nation, alongside its brave armed forces, would continue to stand like an iron wall in defense of the homeland.

CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah:

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, in his New Year message, expressed optimism that 2026 would usher in development, prosperity, and success for Pakistan.

He said that 2025 proved to be a year of defensive superiority, while 2026 would mark economic progress. Highlighting Sindh government achievements, he said the province established the world’s largest healthcare network and completed 1.1 million homes for flood victims, setting a world record. He added that 2 million more homes would be completed in 2026, making the record unbeatable.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz:

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared 2026 as the “Year of Youth,” praying for peace, well-being, and prosperity for Pakistan and the world. She said all promises made in 2025 were fulfilled, including the construction of over 120,000 homes, financial assistance for flood victims, and distribution of laptops and merit-based scholarships among youth.

She expressed confidence that the journey of development and prosperity would accelerate further in 2026.

CM Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the New Year would bring sustainable peace and public prosperity to the province. He emphasized that without law and order, development is not possible, and reiterated that the government would not compromise on stability.

He added that youth empowerment through modern education and skills, along with transparency, merit, and the rule of law, would remain top priorities of the Balochistan government.
