The music community is plunged into deep sorrow as soloist Jin Denim, a rising star known for his heartfelt melodies and tender spirit, passed away at the young age of 29.
According to a post shared on Jin Denim’s personal Instagram account by his younger sister, Jin passed away on December 17, 2025. The family made the announcement public on what would have been his 30th birthday.
“Hello, this is the younger sister of Jin. On the evening of December 17, 2025, my brother Jin (진정엽) tragically passed away due to an accident. At that moment, we were only able to handle immediate family matters, and a private funeral was held with close relatives. However, we felt it was important to share the truth with everyone who loved him and cherished his music,” she wrote.
Jin Denim had been bravely battling bipolar affective disorder and psychotic symptoms since 2015. Fully aware of his condition, he diligently pursued treatment and adhered to prescribed medication. Despite his continuous efforts, his symptoms intensified recently, making it increasingly difficult for the family to manage the situation.
Even while struggling, Jin Denim remained committed to sharing love, faith, and hope with those around him. His condition, however, sometimes led to impulsive behaviors beyond his control. Both he and his family endured immense suffering over the years.
The family clarified that his passing was not suicide but a fatal fall caused by his medical condition. His sister shared, “Jin Denim often said, ‘The day I leave will be a joyful day, for I will be going to heaven, so please do not be sad.’ Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we believe he has found peace.”
She added, “We hope people remember Jin Denim not only through sorrow but through the music and warmth he shared. Please do not carry this pain too heavily. Thank you for loving Jin Denim sincerely.”

Jin Denim released his debut album Dear, Stefi in 2021. While he never gained mainstream fame, his music touched hearts and earned him invitations to festivals, including the New Talents Project festival 2025 in Barcelona.
