Gold, silver rate soar again amid global market gains

KARACHI: The gold prices continued their upward trend across Pakistan on Friday, rising by thousands of rupees for the second consecutive day.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association(APGJA), the price of gold increased by Rs 3,400 per tola nationwide, taking the new rate to Rs 469,562 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs 2,915 to reach Rs 402,573.

Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices climbed by $34, with the metal trading at $4,472 per ounce.

Market analysts attribute the continued rise in local prices to global market trends and fluctuations in the international bullion market.

Meanwhile, silver prices also recorded an increase in the domestic market on Friday.

The price of silver rose by Rs 70 per tola, taking the new rate to Rs 8,195 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs 60 to reach Rs 7,025.

Meanwhile, in the international market, silver prices climbed to $77.20 per ounce.

Earlier, gold prices in Pakistan recorded a sharp decline, with the price of gold falling by Rs1,200 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA).

The association said the per tola price of gold droppedto Rs466,762 across the country. Likewise, the price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs1,028 to Rs400,173.

In the international market, the price of gold fell by $12 to $4,346 from $4,444 per ounce.
