The sister of former New York Giants defensive back Sam Beal has made an emotional public appeal for help, revealing that her brother has been missing for nearly seven months.

Essence Zhane, Beal’s sister, shared the message on Facebook on Monday, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Kentwood Police Department in Virginia.

“Tomorrow makes it seven months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” she wrote. “We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends.”

She clarified that her intention was not to explain how or why Beal disappeared, but simply to reach the right people who might be able to help.

“I’m a big sister and I need my brother to know that we love you and miss you, and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around,” she added.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Beal last contacted his family on July 13, 2025, and was reported missing from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is described as having black hair, brown eyes, and a muscular, athletic build.

Authorities say Beal’s girlfriend was the last person to see him. She told investigators that Beal dropped her off at a family member’s home and was expected to go to work, but instead headed toward Virginia Beach. The final message she received from him indicated that he was returning home.

Missing persons records state that Beal did not take any belongings with him other than the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet containing his bank card and driver’s license.

His girlfriend’s vehicle was later located in Virginia Beach by one of her relatives. The car reportedly contained Beal’s shoes and socks on the front passenger floor, along with traces of sand.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sam Beal attended Western Michigan University before being selected by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. He appeared in several games during his rookie season in 2019, starting three of them, before opting out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ahead of the 2021 season, Beal pleaded guilty to gun-related charges and was placed on probation for one year.

His sister’s renewed appeal has once again drawn attention to the case, as family members and friends continue to hope that fresh information may finally lead to answers about his disappearance.
