The mic has changed hands, and Pakistan’s hip-hop culture is stepping into uncharted territory. Talha Anjum, one of the most commanding voices in desi rap, has officially unveiled Pakistan’s first-ever rap-based reality show, marking a major milestone for the country’s underground and mainstream hip-hop scenes alike.
The Kaun Talha hitmaker announced the project, titled Rap Icon Pakistan, through an Instagram post on Saturday, January 17. Describing the show as a platform built for real talent, Anjum said the initiative is meant to motivate young artists to trust their abilities, stay committed to their craft, and keep pushing despite obstacles.
“@rapiconpakistan coming soon by @pixelent2025,” he wrote, adding that the show aims to encourage aspiring rappers to recognize their worth and dedicate themselves fully to their dreams.
Anjum further emphasized that success in hip-hop isn’t defined by numbers or fame alone. According to him, true victory belongs to those who remain faithful to their passion and refuse to quit, promising audiences an authentic experience rooted in pure desi hip-hop culture.
The announcement video also revealed a star-studded guest lineup, with legendary rapper Bohemia confirmed as part of the panel, alongside other notable industry figures. In the clip, Anjum described the show as a groundbreaking concept that will open real doors for emerging artists ready to make their mark.
Fans reacted instantly, flooding the comments section with excitement, support, and anticipation. Many praised the initiative for giving raw talent a platform, while others expressed eagerness to see familiar names from the hip-hop community join the show.
Although details about the format, judging process, and premiere date remain under wraps, interest in the project continues to grow.
Talha Anjum, a founding member of the hip-hop duo Young Stunners with Talhah Yunus, has played a pivotal role in shaping modern Pakistani rap. Beyond his group success, he has released two acclaimed solo albums, Open Letter and My Terrible Mind, and appeared in the 2024 film Kattar Karachi.
With Rap Icon Pakistan, Anjum isn’t just introducing a new show he’s opening the door for the next generation of Pakistani hip-hop voices.
