Following the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Safe City has started a special counselling service to help people facing mental distress.
The service is available through the Punjab Emergency Helpline 15. Anyone feeling stressed, hopeless, or having suicidal thoughts can dial 15 and press 7 to connect.
Safe City ensures that people in distress can immediately speak with trained psychologists. Through conference calls, clients receive instant counselling from expert psychologists. According to a Safe City spokesperson, timely counselling is helping save lives.
In 2025, the helpline received 2,327 calls related to mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. Out of these, 2,269 people were given prompt counselling and support, preventing potential suicides.
The success rate of counselling through Emergency Helpline 15 has been reported at 98 per cent. Among the calls received, 56 per cent were from men and 44 per cent from women.
