Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September however, those anticipating a radical design overhaul may be disappointed.
Recent leaks indicate that the forthcoming series will retain the same display dimensions as the iPhone 17 lineup, with no significant alterations to its external aesthetics.
This development diverges from earlier conjecture suggesting a more compact Dynamic Island or under-display Face ID integration.
Weibo insider Fixed Focus Digital notes that robust sales of the iPhone 17 series which introduced a major redesign last year have diminished the necessity for another dramatic visual transformation.
Instead, Apple is reportedly prioritizing performance enhancements. The iPhone 18 lineup is expected to be powered by the A20 and A20 Pro chipsets, representing Apple’s first processors fabricated on a 2nm architecture, promising substantial improvements in both computational efficiency and processing speed.
These leaks further cast doubt on previous rumors of a top-left hole-punch camera or a reduced Dynamic Island. Pricing is anticipated to remain broadly in line with the current generation.
In terms of display, the standard iPhone 18 and Pro models are said to retain 6.27-inch screens, while the Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.86-inch display. The Pro variants are rumored to include 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM, an 18-megapixel front-facing camera, and a triple-lens rear system comprising three 48-megapixel sensors.
Additionally, the Pro models may launch concurrently with a potential “iPhone Fold”, whereas the standard iPhone 18 could debut at a subsequent stage.
