Peacock has dropped the electrifying trailer for its upcoming dramedy The Miniature Wife, giving fans a first look at a marriage turned chaotic in the wake of a mind-bending scientific mishap. Starring Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen, the series is set to premiere on 9 April.

Adapted from the short story by Manuel Gonzales, the ten-episode series plunges a seemingly ordinary marriage into absurdity, exploring how love, control, and resentment collide when technology goes rogue.

In the story, Les creates what he dubs “the miracle of miniaturisation”, a revolutionary bio-agritech innovation designed to change the world. But disaster strikes when Lindy is accidentally shrunk to just six inches tall turning their domestic life into a surreal and high-stakes crisis. What begins as a quirky sci-fi twist quickly escalates into a raw emotionally charged experiment in marriage and power dynamics.

The trailer hints at a blend of dark humour high-concept drama, and emotional vulnerability, as the couple races against time to restore Lindy to her normal size while confronting buried tensions and shifting authority in their relationship.

The ensemble cast is stacked with talent, including O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford and Sofia Rosinsky, with recurring appearances from Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu and Tricia Black.

The Miniature Wife is the brainchild of Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner who serve as showrunners and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Michael Aguilar and Suzanne Heathcote along with Banks and Macfadyen.

Several episodes are directed by Greg Mottola, who also executive produces. The show is produced by Media Res, the studio behind critically acclaimed series such as The Morning Show and Pachinko.

With its audacious premise, razor-sharp humour, and emotional depth, The Miniature Wife is one of Peacock’s boldest originals yet a series that’s equal parts imaginative, chaotic, and heartbreakingly human.
