QUETTA: The Balochistan government has officially notified a major administrative reorganization, expanding the province to 11 divisions and 41 districts through the creation of new divisions and districts.
According to the notification, the province’s divisions are now Quetta, Rakhshan, Makran, Nasirabad, Zhob, Loralai, Koh-e-Sulaiman, Pishin, Lasbela, Sibi (Sevi), and Khuzdar.
Under the new administrative structure, Mastung district has been transferred from the former Kalat Division to Quetta Division. Quetta Division will now comprise three districts, while Quetta district has been split into Quetta East and Quetta West.
The notification states that Quetta East will include the Sariab, Sadr, and City subdivisions, while Quetta West will comprise the Kuchlak, Brewery, and Panjpai subdivisions.
The provincial government has abolished the Kalat Division, replacing it with the newly created Khuzdar and Lasbela divisions.
Khuzdar Division will include Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab, and the newly created Wadh district, while Lasbela Division will consist of Lasbela, Hub, and Awaran districts.
A new Pishin Division has also been established, comprising Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Chaman, and the newly created Borshore district.

In addition, the government has renamed Sibi Division as Sevi Division, which will include Sevi, Dera Bugti South, and Kachhi districts under the revised administrative framework.
