RAWALPINDI: Conflicting statements and unanswered questions are deepening the mystery surrounding Hina Javed’s death at Askari Apartments as Rawalpindi police investigate a possible domestic dispute, theft motive and the involvement of more than one person.
According to police sources, domestic worker Zeeshan gave three different accounts after being taken into custody.
In his first statement, he allegedly claimed Hina was killed as part of a plan involving Faisal Asghar Imam. In his second statement, he reportedly took responsibility for the killing.
During the formal investigation, however, Zeeshan allegedly gave a third account, saying he had been called to the residence during an argument between Hina and her husband.

Police sources said investigators are examining claims that Hina resisted and tried to escape during the incident. According to the account, two men allegedly caught her and she was strangled during the struggle.
Investigators are also examining what happened afterward. Police sources said Hina’s body was allegedly taken to the bathroom and suspended from the shower with a wire in an apparent attempt to make the death appear to be suicide or the work of unidentified attackers.
The investigation is not limited to Hina’s husband and Zeeshan. Police are pursuing several possible motives, including whether Zeeshan attacked Hina after she allegedly discovered him stealing money or other belongings from the house.
According to police sources, Zeeshan had been staying in a portion of the residence occupied by Hina and other family members. He was also allegedly accused of taking Hina’s purse, cash and other items.
Police are investigating whether fear of being exposed for the alleged theft could have motivated the killing.
Investigators are also examining the physical circumstances of the crime scene, including whether one person could have moved Hina’s body to the bathroom and suspended it from the shower without assistance.
The conflicting accounts and questions surrounding the crime scene have led police to pursue multiple lines of inquiry. Investigators have not yet established a final account of the killing, and the allegations remain under investigation.
