The cold wave has hit Karachi on Monday morning. Intense cold weather is likely to prevail this week.
Met Office has predicted that Karachi can get its lowest temperature in seven years.
Strong winds have begun blowing from Sunday in the metropolis as the new cold wave will cause the severity of cool weather to increase from Monday to Friday.
Today’s weather update
Cold & dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Monday. However, light rain/ snowfall is expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog is likely to prevail in Plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. A westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country and may persist in upper parts till Monday.
Moreover, cold & dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Tuesday. However, light rain/ snowfall is expected in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Fog is likely to prevail in Plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan, northern areas, Kashmir and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
