Qassem Soleimani Assasination: Iran Issues Interpol Arrest Warrant For Trump

Iran has once again requested Interpol to issue “red warrants” against 48 officials, including US President Donald Trump, for the assassination of Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani.

Major General Qasem Soleimani, head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force, was killed in a US airstrike near an airport in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in January last year.

According to the foreign news agency ‘AFP’, regarding the red notice, the spokesman of the Iranian judiciary Gholamhossein Esmaeili said during the press conference that Iran has requested the international police organization to arrest Donald Trump and 47 other American officials.

Gholamhossein told reporters that Iran is taking the crime very seriously and is pursuing and punishing those who commit it.

Iran has applied for an international arrest warrant for Donald Trump and dozens of other US officials.

In June, Tehran’s prosecutor issued arrest warrants for Donald Trump and dozens of other US officials, accusing them of “murder and terrorism.”

But France-based Interpol rejected Iran’s request, saying its constitution prohibits “interference or activities of any political, military, religious or ethnic character.”

Iran has repeatedly said it will take revenge on the United States and threatened dangerous consequences.

An Iranian court later ruled that an Iranian citizen who provided information to the US and Israeli intelligence services about the slain Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani would be executed soon.

It should be noted that the US had accused Qassem Soleimani of being the mastermind of Iranian-backed militias in attacks on US forces in the region.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has appointed his deputy, Ismail Qayani, as head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force after the death of General Qasim Soleimani.
