Case filed against filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar for slapping a person

A man has filed a complaint against filmmaker and actor Mahesh Majrekar for allegedly abusing him and slapping him after his car hit the director’s vehicle in Maharashtra.

Mahesh Majrekar is a prominent filmmaker and has directed movies including Vaastav and Astitva. He has also directed numerous Marathi movies.

An official from Yavat police station said that the incident took place on Friday night near Yavat village on Pune-Solapur highway following which police registered a non-cognizable offense against Manjrekar.

He said that Kailas Satpute alleged that his vehicle hit Manjrekar’s car from behind after the filmmaker applied sudden brakes.

The official added that Manjrekar then stepped out of his car and both of them had an argument, following which the filmmaker allegedly slapped and abused Satpute.

The official further told the news source that the man later filed a police complaint against Manjrekar. The police registered a non-cognizable offense under relevant Indian Penal Code Sections.
