Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, on Wednesday (today) said that those who always dream of dethroning the PTI are speculating on the matter.
Commenting over the meeting of PTI ally Pervaiz Elahi’s meeting with PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari, Firdous Ashiq termed their meetup a “storm in a teacup” and rubbished rumours of any differences between the coalition partners.
In a series of tweets today, the SACM said, “The PML-Q is an experienced political party and an important ally of the PTI government.”
The rare move has triggered several rumours among political parties about rifts between the ruling alliance.
Awan added, “the Opposition can dream of toppling the PTI government, there is no ban on it.”
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, we have defeated the worried Opposition – due to the successes achieved by the government – at every front.”
She advised them to work with the government for public welfare.

Earlier on Tuesday, Punjab Assembly Speaker and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called on former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and the national political scene without giving any more details.
According to sources, both the leaders agreed to meet again shortly over a dinner to be attended by PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat too.
The reestablished contacts between the two former allies, which ruled the country from 2008 to 2013, are aimed at forming a future alliance along with the Awami National Party besides other nationalist parties, sources said.
Previously, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also met PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz before the budget session after Shehbaz Sharif was released on bail.
