FPCCI nominates Ferdowsia Fazal as North Zone coordinator

ISLAMABAD: Hazara Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HWCCI) founder president Ferdowsia Fazal has been nominated as the women coordinator (North Zone) for representing women in the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), a statement said on Tuesday.

The FPCCI platform will play its due role in alleviating problems of the business women and providing relief, it added.

FPCCI president Mian Nasser Hyyat Maggo appointed coordinators to represent women’s chambers in all offices of the country.

Ferdowsia Fazal will represent the Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa women’s chambers and businesswomen in the FPCCI.

Thanking the FPCCI leadership, Ferdowsia Fazal said that this is the first time that the FPCCI women coordinators have been appointed after the appointment of a woman vice president.

The coordinators will have a positive impact and help resolve the problems being faced by the business women, she said, and demanded the government to provide special training to women members of all chambers across the country for business on Amazon and pay special attention to the rural areas.

The quarantine clause regarding chambers delegations should be scrapped so that the negative impact of the Covid-19 could be overcome as soon as possible.

Ferdowsia Fazal also demanded the government to take officials of women’s chambers on the advisory committees’ boards for resolving their issues so that better suggestions could be given to address problems.

Pakistan’s women’s chambers and businesswomen are not given the status they deserve. Women entrepreneurs are playing the same role as men and industrialists do in the economic growth and ending unemployment in the country, she said.

She said measures would also be taken to set up Women Entrepreneurs Block and Skill Development Institute for women and to encourage young educated women to launch their own businesses instead of jobs.

This will not only provide decent employment opportunities to women but also enable them to play an effective role in the national economy, she added.
