Umer Akmal has been allowed to resume cricket activities by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Umar has been taking part in a rehabilitation program that started last month. To date, Umar has remorse. He also attended an anti-corruption lecture, and participated in a Q&A session conducted by the Security and Anti-Corruption Department.
His rehabilitation program will conclude next month, after which he will be allowed to take part in Pakistan domestic cricket season 2021-22.
Umar paid a fine of PKR 4.2 million to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for violating the anti-corruption rule.
CAS reduced the suspension period from 18 months to 12 months.
He was suspended from all forms of cricket after he was found guilty of being involved in suspicious activities before PSL season 5.
