Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has played the lead role in several Bollywood hits, including Gangs of Wasseypur 2, says he is a man who believes in hard work and does not rely on luck alone.
He said that unlike many others in the profession, he did not wear a special ring or charm bracelet, nor did he blindly believe in astrology.
It should be noted that Nawazuddin Siddiqui struggled hard in Bollywood for more than a decade, after which he gained fame with Anurag Kashyap’s two-part crime film Gangs of Wasseypur.
When asked about actors who change the spellings of their names, Nawazuddin said, “They must have some personal agendas, they must hate their names. I love my name, and this is the only correct way to spell it. Or maybe they’re insecure.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed these views while speaking as a guest in the ‘Sunday Brunch with Zomato’ episode of Curly Tales’ YouTube channel.
He was asked about earlier comments in which he said that he believes in hard work and struggle instead of luck or destiny.
“People work like donkeys… I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be saying this, but people who work without using their brains don’t get very far. God has given you a brain, if you use it and work hard, then it pays off. I am still unconvinced about the importance of luck. I might change my mind later, but as of this moment, I remain unconvinced,” he said.
