King Salman donated SR30 million ($7.998 million) and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman donated SR20 million ($5.332 million) during the opening of the country’s second straight National Campaign for Charitable Work on saturday.
Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and chairman of the Ehsan platform’s oversight council, expressed gratitude to Saudi officials. This, he said, will encourage individuals and residents to participate in government-led social solidarity projects, particularly during Ramadan.
According to Al-Ghamdi, the crown prince is already serving as chairman of the SDAIA, which has backed the Ehsan campaign’s efforts. He stated that the Kingdom continues to play a “leading” role in giving aid to the world’s most needy people.
“Investing in Artificial Intelligence to create an effective digital system like Ehsan, which provides simple, safe, highly credible, and efficient ways to donate, is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives aimed at promoting and developing the charitable work sector, (and) increasing its contributions to the development of society,” he said.
More than 4.465 million people have benefited from the Ehsan platform, which has already raised SR1.47 billion ($391.94 million). It is intended to help those who are financially weak, such as orphans, the sick, the elderly, and those who live in low standard housing.
