Brazil vs Argentina: MCG to host the Friendly encounter

Brazil

Fans will be ecstatic to see Brazil take on Argentina at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground in June.

Martin Pakula, Victoria’s state sports minister, told Melbourne’s radio station that he had been advised to expect the presence of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr, who are reportedly taking this FIFA friendly seriously in the run-up to the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which will be held in the winter months.

“We expect stars like (Lionel) Messi and Neymar to be here, based on the discussions we’ve had,” he told Melbourne’s radio station.

“We can’t be certain, but we’ve been informed this is an essential warm-up for them ahead of the World Cup.”

If the Copa America finals in July 2021 are any indicator, despite being friendly, this game might be pretty exciting.

Argentina prefers to play strong football, releasing players like Angel di Maria, Lautaro Martinez, and Lionel Messi on the counters, whilst Brazil prefers to play more fluid football due to their excellent ball players.

With the chance that Lionel Messi, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, may retire after the Qatar World Cup, this could be the last time Australia sees him in an Argentina jersey.

It is still unknown whether Messi and Neymar will visit Australia, but it is possible that they will do so within the next month, given that June is the off-season for European stars.
