PCB General Body meeting: Ramiz Raja announces cash reward

Pakistan’s men’s teams are currently ranked fifth in Tests, third in ODIs and fourth in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.
The meeting also discussed the men’s team’s hectic 2022-23 cricket season.
Women’s team will compete in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the T20 World Cups.

During the board’s General Body meeting at the National High Performance Centre on Monday, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja announced PKR1 million each for blind and deaf cricket teams in recognition of their international performances.

The General Body was given an overview of Pakistan cricket and was briefed on the efforts and measures being taken to strengthen grassroots cricket and reinforce Pakistan cricket’s foundations.

It was also revealed that Pakistan’s men’s teams are currently ranked fifth in Tests, third in ODIs and T20Is, and fourth in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, which serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Cup.

The group also discussed the men’s team’s hectic and demanding 2022-23 cricket season, which includes a journey to Sri Lanka for two Tests and the ACC T20 Asia Cup, three ODIs in the Netherlands, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in October.

The following home series will feature England and New Zealand on separate tours, with the West Indies returning for three T20Is in January/February 2023.

Women’s team will compete in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the T20 World Cups in South Africa, as well as home and away ICC Women’s Championship matches against Ireland in Australia.

Following the Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association’s elections in January, the General Body meeting was conducted.

This indicated that the required quorum for calling the meeting was available under Clause 24(1).

PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja presided over the meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Syed Sultan Shah (Chairman, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council) and Mr. Irfan Miraj (President, Deaf Cricket Association), as well as their office-bearers, who were invited as observers by the PCB Chairman.

Ex-officio members included PCB Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain and Chief Operating Officer Barrister Salman Naseer.
