Authorities are looking for those responsible for breaking into a $8 million Florida mansion, throwing a huge party, and posting videos of the chaos online.

According to Corey Dobridnia, a spokesman for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, some 200 people attended the party on Friday night at the residence in the upscale but small town of Watercolor while the owners were away.

About 40 miles northwest of Panama City, Florida, on the Gulf Coast is where you’ll find Watercolor.

According to Dobridnia, somebody forced open the back door to get inside the house.

Around one or two in the morning on Saturday, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to a residence on Blackwater Street due to a noise complaint; however, by the time they arrived, most of the partygoers had fled, according to officials.

While at the party, people were seen dancing, drinking, and supporting young people who were boxing while wearing gloves. Video of the event was also shared on Snapchat, Instagram, and other social media sites.

The sheriff’s office issued a warning that social media posts could be subject to subpoenas and that Snapchat is not private.

It’s against the law to host an open home party. A burglary is holding an open house party at a residence you have broken into, according to the sheriff’s office.

So far, a number of partygoers have been located, some thanks to parents who contacted the sheriff’s office.

According to Dobridnia, the guests are now thought to be high school students from the area and the nearby Okaloosa County. Authorities are still trying to figure out who broke into the house and who planned the party.

The Watercolor residence where the party was held is up for sale, but the owners resided there permanently, according to the sheriff’s office. The house has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 6,442 square feet, according to an ad for it.

The owners were out of town when the break-in and party took place, but a family member was at the house just hours before the mayhem began.

Less than a day was spent away from town by (the owners). On Friday afternoon, there was still someone in the house even after they had left. Therefore, either someone was driving past the house or they noticed that the family was leaving town, according to Dobridnia.

Five days before to the party on Friday, a flyer with the home’s address and advertisements for wine and food was distributed.

So, if you enter a home while under the age of 21 and find individuals using drugs, drinking, and fighting in the foyer while wearing boxing gloves, you know you shouldn’t be there, Dobridnia added.

“However, it is illegal to host an open house party in Florida. Therefore, even if you didn’t believe the house had been broken into, you are still not at the proper location.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the home’s owners want to file charges and are demanding information about who broke into their home.

Determining the exact cost of stolen goods and the harm done to the large house will take some time, though.

The main problem we have, according to Dobridnia, “is the complete disregard for someone’s home, regardless of the cost of the house.”

This family is now concerned about strangers using their bathroom, entering their home, sleeping in their beds, and putting on their jewellery. What it is is a violation of privacy.
