- 23 other Americans have also been barred from entering the country.
- The Russian foreign ministry says the move is in reaction to US sanctions against Russia’s political and public figures.
MOSCOW: The Russian foreign ministry said on Tuesday that the wife and daughter of US President Joe Biden, along with 23 other Americans, have been prohibited from entering Russia.
“As a reaction to the constantly expanding US sanctions against Russian political and public figures, 25 American citizens are added to a stop list,'” according to a ministry letter accompanying the list.

Several US senators, including Susan Collins of Maine, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Charles Grassley of Iowa, and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, were featured on the list.
There were also a number of university academics and researchers, as well as former US government officials.
