THARPARKAR: Lumpy skin disease is getting out of hand in Thar as ten more livestock animals have died in these deserted areas, adding to the total tally of more than 200 animals killed by the deadly animal virus, BOL News reported on Wednesday. 

According to the details, hundreds of cattle are suffering from lumpy disease. The dangerous virus started spreading more rapidly in the villages. While talking to BOL News, the locals claimed that the Livestock Department of Sindh in Tharparkar is completely ineffective in controlling the virus. The affected areas of Thar include Chhachru, Kaloi, Nagarparkar, Dahli, and other areas.

Moreover, poor Thar residents have lost lakhs of rupees due to the increasing deaths of cattle. The Livestock Department Sindh has not taken any notice of the lumpy disease which is increasing rapidly in the region.

According to the Livestock Department of Tharparkar, 45 more new cases have been reported from Thar. In order to protect livestock animals against Lumpy disease, 389,069 animals were vaccinated in Thar districts, while more than 902,000 animals were deprived of vaccination due to the non-availability of vaccines.
