Jasprit Bumrah not ruled out of World Cup, says BCCI
Jasprit Bumrah, star pacer has not been disqualified from competing in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, says BCCI President.
With the much-anticipated World Cup just around the corner, India’s frontline pacer Bumrah suffered a back injury only days before their first T20I against South Africa in Trivandrum.
However, Ganguly revealed the right-arm pacer hasn’t been ruled out of the mega event just yet.
“Bumrah is not out of the World Cup yet,” Ganguly said according to Xtra Time digital channel on Friday.
A final decision could be made in the “next two or three days,” according to the former cricketer.
For the home white-ball series, Mohammed Siraj took his spot. After missing the current series, which India presently leads 1-0, Bumrah went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for scans. The NCA’s medical personnel is now monitoring him.
The Men in Blue are set to depart for Australia on October 6 and will face Pakistan in their first T20 World Cup match on October 23 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
