Ukraine receives, advanced air defence systems
Ukraine’s western allies have delivered new air defence systems, according to the country’s defence minister on Monday.
“These weapons will significantly strengthen #UAarmy and will make our skies safer,” Oleksii Reznikov said on Twitter. “We will continue to shoot down the enemy targets attacking us. Thank you to our partners: Norway, Spain and the US.”

This summer, the United States of America made a commitment to deliver eight NASAMS, which stands for National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems, to Ukraine. In October, the White House made the announcement that it would speed up the delivery of two different systems.
The NATO Aerial Missile System (NASAMS) provides defences over a short to medium range and is capable of engaging Russian cruise missiles. It’s the same system that safeguards the airspace over Washington, District of Columbia.
