LAHORE: A woman who had gone missing from Karachi has been recovered from Lahore after ten days, BOL News reported.
Malir Police and investigation agencies in Lahore conducted a joint operation and recovered the woman Anam Sohaib from a locality in Lahore.
A suspect who was present with the woman has also been arrested. Police said the suspect will be presented in court tomorrow (Saturday).
Police said as per initial reports, Anam left her home in Karachi on her own freewill. The police said the woman met a man on Instagram and decided to elope to Lahore. Police said Anam is already married and a case was registered ten days ago.
Anum Sohaib, aged 31, who has a daughter, went missing from the Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi. Her family said she went for a job interview at a school and didn’t return home.
Her husband lodged a case at the Steel Town police station. He said the family searched for her but failed to locate her after which a case was registered.
He had said his wife’s phone number was provided to police officials. He added that her mobile phone was switched off and CCTV cameras were not working due to load shedding when she left the home. Police officials said that a probe will be conducted on the basis of CDR and digital records.
