The Sunday FIFA World Cup final between France and Argentina featured Deepika Padukone. The actor was picked to present the coveted FIFA World Cup trophy before the game along with Spanish footballer Iker Casillas. In attendance to present the prize from its specially crafted case was Deepika, an ambassador for the prestigious worldwide fashion house Louis Vuitton. People online started discussing the actor’s ‘atrocious’ attire that didn’t fit the occasion. Even not the historic event or the fact that Deepika was the first Indian to win this distinction.

Deepika uploaded an Instagram Reel of the actor practicing for the presentation along with the fashion brand. The video was captioned, “A day at the #FIFAWorldCup2022 Final with #DeepikaPadukone. The House Ambassador got ready with #LouisVuitton before revealing the ultimate prize in football. Discover Maison’s tradition of creating bespoke trophy trunks.” Deepika said in the little video that she is both anxious and grateful to have been invited to the occasion. On the unique trophy trunk, she is seen signing a football and an official book. “It feels like a really proud moment for me,” she shared. The actor also mentions that this is her first time at the FIFA World Cup and in Doha.

Several people questioned the label about their sense of fashion in the post’s comment section. One admirer wrote, “terrible Louis Vuitton Her outfit is not very attractive. Given that you forced her to wear a funny-looking bottom skirt and a duffel leather bag, she hardly resembles the house ambassador at all.” One person said, “You guys did her filthy with that costume.” Additionally, Deepika discussed the clothing Nicolas Ghesquière created for her and appeared to defend the design. She said, “It’s a very special look by my very dear friend Nicolas. And what I love about it is that it’s so perfect for what we are going to do which is unveiling the trophy. But at the same time it’s really comfortable.”
