Netflix to release ‘Puss in Boots’ in two windows

On December 21, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was released in theatres across the country. The movie will also be made available on Netflix at some point.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which was directed by Joel Crawford, follows Puss as he embarks on yet another illustrious voyage in an effort to fulfil the legend of his “last wish” and regain his full complement of nine lives.

According to What’s on Netflix, the agreement that Netflix reached with Universal and its animation studios in 2021 will allow the movie to be added to its catalogue in 2023 on Netflix US. The agreement was made possible by the fact that Netflix is the largest provider of streaming services in the world.

Peacock and Netflix have both acquired some of the first window distribution rights to the film. After it has been shown in theatres, the film will first be made available on Peacock for a period of four months. On July 1, 2023, it will then be made available on Netflix, and it will remain there until May 2024.

The film will remain in its current location at the Peacock Theatre for a further four months. It is anticipated that Puss in Boots: The Last Wish would make its return to Netflix between the years 2026 and 2027 during the second release window.
