Hafiz Naeem demands ‘no delay’ in LG polls

• Hafiz Naeem demanded LG polls on date
• He said no objection over unification of MQM factions
• Naeem also demands action by election commission

KARACHI: Jamat e Islami (JI) Chief Hafiz Naeem said Friday that the local government (LG) polls must take place in the metropolitan city at any cost.

He was addressing a presser when said that he has no issue with the unification of all MQM factions but will not let happen the delay in LG elections.

Hafiz Naeem while pouring scorn on PPP said that the party and its coalition have an interest in corruption only while demanding polls as per schedule.

He also said that the election commission should take notice as he wrote twice to the electoral body in regard to the matter.

JI chief also said that the citizens have been deprived of basic necessities like gas, and electricity which added insult to the injuries of the people.

Hafiz Naeem also opined that the demonstrators in Gwadar braved extreme violence which is condemnable.

On the other hand, the election commission has delayed the LG elections in Islamabad and a written order in this regard has been issued.
