Natalie Portman narrates the James Cameron up-coming documentary
A brand-new trailer for Secrets of the Elephants, the newest entry in James Cameron’s groundbreaking and acclaimed Secrets Of series, has been released by National Geographic. The four-part series is scheduled to debut on Friday, April 21, 2023, shortly before Earth Day on National Geographic and Disney+ in the US, with international releases to follow.
The documentary series Secrets of the Elephants follows the complicated relationships, nuanced emotions, and sophisticated lifestyles of elephants from all around the world, from Africa to Asia. Dr. Paula Kahumbu, a renowned National Geographic Explorer and expert on elephants, will be featured in the series, which will be narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman. It will not only show viewers the majesty of these magnificent animals but also emphasize how similar they are to humans.
The Secrets of series’ second installment, Secrets of the Elephants, will follow Secrets of the Whales, which made its appearance in 2021. In a previous interview, Cameron stated that there will be a new Secrets of series every year that will focus on a different part of nature, with Secrets of the Octopus being the upcoming installment.
The two previously announced series will be joined by Secrets of the Bees, which will use new macro technology to delve deeply into the world of insects, and Secrets of the Penguins, which will act as a spiritual successor to March of the Penguins made over the course of three years. Both of these series were announced by Cameron during the Television Critics Association’s 2023 Winter Press Tour. In addition to leaving the animal kingdom, Cameron also announced Titanic: 25 Years Later, a documentary special that will examine not only his revolutionary and influential film but also the history of the real ship and examine various aspects of the infamous sinking through a contemporary lens using contemporary research and technology.
In advance of Titanic’s remastered theatrical release on February 10, the program is scheduled to air on National Geographic on February 5.
