According to the Israeli military, a grenade accidentally exploded at a military base in the Jordan Valley of the occupied West Bank, killing 1 Israeli soldier.

In the event on Saturday night, three additional people were hurt; one of them is reportedly in a critical condition.
The explosion happened at the Kfir Brigade training facility, which is close to the illegal Israeli settlement of Ro’i.

The military declared that after looking into “the circumstances of the occurrence,” the military police would report its findings to the military prosecutor.

An mishap during a training exercise in the Naqab (Negev) Desert on Wednesday resulted in a soldier being shot in the leg.

The soldier was shot at the Tzeelim Base during a military drill, according to the Israeli military.

At Anatot Base, close to occupied East Jerusalem, a soldier was murdered earlier this year as a result of an unintentional discharge from another soldier’s weapon.

The event on Saturday occurred as Israeli soldiers continued their nearly daily searches across the occupied West Bank, which during the previous year resulted in scores of Palestinian deaths and hundreds of arrests.

Since the beginning of 2022, 13 Palestinians have already been killed by Israelis in incidents around the occupied West Bank.
