Onir finally claims that he doesn’t like Besharam Rang

Onir has now stated that he doesn’t like the Pathaan song, a month after calling out people who criticised Besharam Rang. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone may be seen romancing in Spain in the song.

A month after slamming individuals who criticised the Pathaan song Besharam Rang, director Onir has admitted that he dislikes it. Onir claimed in a speech at the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival that he doesn’t know why his discussion at the recent Bhopal Literary Festival was abruptly cancelled. Onir also mentioned that he was questioned about the relationship between the cancellation and his tweet “about the issue” surrounding the song.

Besharam Rang was published on December 12 and quickly became the subject of debate. Besharam Rang’s choice of clothes and colours offended a portion of the population. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were shown in the song as they romanced in Spain.

Onir said, “Someone asked me if this (talk cancellation) was a repercussion of my tweet on the controversy over Besharam song from Pathaan. I don’t like the song, but I will speak up for something that is wrong. I don’t see my colleagues commenting. I have had a few people inboxing me, and I am like… Your love in the inbox means nothing, if you cannot come out and stand by me out in the open.”

When the Besharam Song was released in December, Onir called out a Twitter user for trying to mock the song by sharing screenshots of it. The individual had wrote, “What kind of a husband allows or tolerates public molestation of his wife for a few bucks? Just asking !!!”

Onir answered, “Yucks .., sick mentality . Use of words like ‘allows’, ‘ tolerate”   reveals that he is a member of the group of men who believe that a husband owns his wife. And only someone with a nasty attitude could create such a montage. Retired and now nothing better to do than zoom in pics n spread hate.”

“Can’t imagine that the most important thing to debate for a bunch of politicians (whose claim to fame is propagating hate and dividing the country & instigating violence) & the mainstream media is the costume worn by two actors for a song!” he had also written. The hashtags for unemployment, inflation, and the climate disaster were also added by him.
