Jonathan Majors on What Makes Kang the “Biggest, Baddest MCU Villain” in the Wasp: Quantumania”
The MCU as we know it will change thanks to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Phase 5 will begin with threats on the level of the Avengers, and to be honest, based on the looks of the feature, even the Avengers could use all the help they can muster and then some more in order to defeat Kang, the Conqueror. Phase 4 was about coping with grief, a celebration of cultures, and character introduction. Jonathon Majors reveals what makes his character the “largest, baddest MCU villain that we’ve had” in a brand-new interview with Fandango.
Kang may “rewrite existence and break timelines,” as the trailers imply. It is also acknowledged that there are various manifestations of the persona engaged in conflict with one another for control of the multiverse. He Who Remains, who was, needless to say, the most rational of them all, was a prior incarnation of him that we saw in Loki Season 1. However, in Quantumania, we’ll get to see just how powerful the character truly is. To elaborate on Kang’s central idea, Majors says that the Quantum Realm, which is “my current realm,” is where the family originated. Then I said, “I’m there. And as the title indicates, I’ve won the battle. Thus, he is a lonely man. Simply there. Figuring it out
Majors said that “there is the manifestation of power” in every villain’s character arc. But the drive itself is internal power. Do you realize? Kang, he continued, was particularly interesting because “his agony and suffering and discomfort and disgust with society and the world is so profound in him that [those attributes] have allowed him to make himself into the supervillain that you see.” Adding to it,
“It is that internal friction that gives him that power. Now, how it manifests? Stay tuned! Yeah, his heartache is great and so massive that he does live up to that title of being the biggest, baddest MCU villain that we’ve had.”
It will be intriguing to discover the true cause of Kang’s sadness in light of the Majors’ remarks. Since the two characters have a romantic relationship in the comic book, Ravonna Renslayer, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the Loki series, is expected to play a role at some point. When things started to go wrong, she was the one who maintained the TVA facade in the main timeline and was last seen just vanishing into another one. However, Kang’s fate won’t be revealed until Quantumania is released on movie screens.
