Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have received a warning about “profiting off their status” as senior royals following a decline in popularity.
“Harry and Meghan’s popularity in the UK has fallen since a lot of these projects have come out, especially Spare,” according to Forbes writer Carlie Porterfield, who was speaking about the royal couple and Harry’s book “Spare” on the UK local new channel.
Speaking on the outlet’s YouTube channel, Porterfield said, “I think that people are a little more sensitive in the UK to how members of the Royal Family -even if they are not working like Harry and Meghan no longer are – profiting off of their status.”
In the Netflix documentary Spare this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle openly lambasted the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex avoided mentioning members of the royal family in their previous documentaries and books about their lives.
But in response to the most recent assaults, Harry has spoken in length about his interactions with his father King Charles, brother William, and Meghan Markle.
