Shadab Khan made humorous remark about losing teammates

Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad United, made a humorous remark about losing to his pals and colleagues in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The eighth PSL season, which kicks off on February 13 in Multan, will feature Shadab as the captain of two-time champions Islamabad United.

“When I’m playing in the PSL, I’m more concentrated because I don’t want to lose to my teammates and close friends because they remind you about it the whole year with their teasing comments,” Shadab said on Tuesday’s PCB Podcast.

The PSL was important to Shadab’s growth as a cricketer, as he also emphasized.

“I am who I am now purely because of PSL. “I joined this competition as an Emerging Category player, but this tournament provided me with the opportunity, belief, and confidence to grow and develop as a cricketer, and I am happy to say that I am now a Platinum Category player,” he stated.

“When I started my cricket, I thought I could be a brilliant U19 or domestic player, but then I got the opportunity in PSL 1 when I was able to fool and worry the then world’s best hitter Kumar Sangakkara with my wrong’un or leg-spin. This changed everything for me because I began to believe in myself, and now I can compete in any competition, against any opponent, and in any tournament with the confidence that I can perform.

“It was the PSL that provided me with the chance to demonstrate my captaincy and batting ability with performances and establish myself as a useful and efficient all-rounder. Cricket is not just about skill, but also about mental toughness, and I believe the PSL gave me with the opportunity to discover and trust my talent and abilities.”

He also stated that the quality of bowling in the PSL is superior to that of any other T20 competition in the world.

“The quality and standard of bowling in the PSL is significantly superior to that of any other league. This is not anything I say, but it is something that great PSL players have publicly stated. “It makes me very happy when the world’s finest cricketers appreciate our league and its standards,” he added.
